How many people fit in a helicopter?
Our tour helicopter fleet consists of four passenger aircraft. We may arrange a five and six passenger helicopter at a premium charge. If interested in a five or six passenger aircraft please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 877-902-9292, Ext. 1. It is common for large groups of 4+ passengers to split into smaller groups and fly in separate aircraft, allowing more in the group to sit in the co-pilot seat. The pilot makes final decision on seating arrangements based on weight distribution.
Can I change or cancel a reservation?
You are welcome to change your reservation online up to 48 hours in advance of the flight without incurring any fees. Between 24 and 48 hours in advance of the flight, your changes will incur a $50 change fee. Within 24 hours of your scheduled flight no changes may be made to your reservation.
Why am I asked for my weight to book a tour flight?
The helicopters are subject to weight and balance restrictions, so we must enforce a 250lb per seat limit; however you may purchase two seats if required.
It looks like rain today – is my flight still going?
A few drops shouldn’t keep you on the ground. That said, sightseeing flights won’t depart in heavy rains, thunderstorms, low visibility or other extreme weather conditions, so do keep an eye on the weather for the day of your flight. If you have any questions about weather delays or rescheduling, please feel free to give us a call for further information. In the face of such delays or schedule cancellations we will make every effort to reschedule your flight free of charge.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
There are a few conditions which would cause operational delays, including unfavorable weather, airspace closures, medical/EMS activity, and equipment irregularities. Vertiport Chicago and its operators reserve the right to upgrade, alter, or reschedule any sightseeing flights due to such conditions. If we cannot reschedule your flight for a time that works well, the amounts already paid will remain active on your account.
Is there parking available?
Absolutely – in addition to a parking lot, there is plenty of street parking available around Vertiport Chicago.
